Newbery Club 2006-2007
The Mock Newbery Club meets every week immediately before the group activity. Each week the members read one or more books that have been published in the current year. In 2007 we split into two groups, still meeting every week, to accommodate younger readers who are not ready for the teen content in many of the books. We discuss the books and try to decide if it has what it takes to be a Newbery Medal contender. We encourage each other to read, we listen and ask questions about favorites, and write reviews.
